2004 Warped Tour- the 10th Anniversary
River City Rebels

This great bunch of guys are the epitome of persistence and my favorite story of the tour .  They track down and try to audition in front of the tour's head honcho Kevin Lyman so they can secure a spot a the tour.

They are told all spots are filled, Lyman says if they can find a stage they can play.

They search and find a spot to squeeze into on the Space Station stage and they are a hit with the crowd! And the rest is history.
They are influenced by The New York Dolls...surprise!
The Goons

If you like old school punk rock, this is definately the band for you!! I think the newest punk I heard before the tour was from 1983, so these guys are singing stuff I like!

Don't let their gruff exteriors and rude gestures (Serg the singer flips off the audience) on stage scare you, they are warm people with a tough stage persona.  But then again, I would not get them mad, just in case!!

The Kinison

Regulars at The Monster VIP Happy Hour.  After many tries I caught the last 2 minutes of only one of their appearances.  I liked what I saw!

Tiger Army

What an interesting rockabilly sound they have, no wonder they are a hit.  I was able to spend some time talking with Mike Fasano the drummer that took over touring and recording for their drummer who was injured by a gunshot.

Mike is a great guy and was recently featured in Drum! magazine (Sept./Oct. 2004, page 60- Six Keys to Drum Tuning) - this guy has been around, knows his stuff and is a fine fit for Tiger Army!!!
A regular at the Monster VIP Happy Hour.
Mike, thank you for talking drums with me and introducing me to Pork Pie drums.
The Rolling Blackouts

Regulars at the Monster VIP Happy Hour.

I enjoyed their Rock/Blues sound..keep up the good work guys!!
Strangely, these guys needed to leave the tour early due to a incident involving drunkenness and inappropriate behavior.  I found out the scoop while buying a beer for one of the guys at a Spaghetti Station lounge in Minneapolis. It really was just a big misunderstanding.
It's too bad- we weren't ready to say goodbye!
